Follow-up to Pinks All Out
March 30, 2009 on 8:33 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWell, we didn’t get to go to the show, but a friend of mine did, and I did not like the news he brought back from the show…Rich Christensen picked the 11 second class, so our Vega would have been too fast anyway, but he told the spectators at Ennis before the show that he wanted to please the crowd, and that alot of racers had emailed him and wanted the average street cars to get a chance to win the $10,000. Well, as sure as shit, he picked the 11 second class, giving the average racer their shot. This goes against everything he stood for…He said that he never picks a group ahead of time, and that he would only pick a group who runs all out. Sounds like he lied to me… There was a group of 32 nine second cars, and about 15 eleven second cars. Seems like everything that led up to this event was trying to tell me something…Stay Away!!! I’m glad we didn’t qualify weeks ago. This saved me of the agony of knowing that he didn’t even consider the nine second class! He has alot of racers pissed off right now. I bet his email box is full!!! hahaha.
Qualification day at Ennis, Texas
March 14, 2009 on 11:06 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWe are headed to Ennis today with the Vega to qualify for a chance to be in the show at the Pinks All Out to be held on 21st of March. I’ll post our results as soon as we get back! Wish us luck.
Follow-up: Well, as fate would have it, we did not get into the show due to mechanical failure…The car has ran great all week, performed flawlessly even during the technical inspection, and all the way to the staging lanes, then….once they called us into the burnout box, one of the fuel pumps failed. We tried to get her going, but the track officials would not give us any time to make repairs. Guess it’s time to buy a better fuel pump. We’ll be back up and running soon! Maybe next year we’ll get in the show…
Vega ready for Pinks All Out
March 10, 2009 on 7:16 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWe took the Vega down to Ardmore to get the chassis certified, and found out that they were having a free test-n-tune, so we decided to make a few passes…We ended up running 9.77 @ 136 mph in the 1/4 mile! She feels like she’s ready to go to Ennis next week as we will try to qualify for a ticket into the show, which will be held on the 21st of March. I’ll keep everyone informed as to our status for the show. Stay tuned!!!
