Camaro Update
August 7, 2008 on 6:47 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWell, we dodged a bullet this time…Turns out that the motor is o.k.!!! Found out that we lost oil pressure due to a faulty Fram Filter clogging up the inlet port.(I’m currently waiting for a review from Allied Signal on their filter analysis), and we’ll see if they would like to donate to Team Hall Racing. Note to self and anyone else who will listen: NEVER USE FRAM FILTERS AGAIN!!!!!! We are going to order an EGT probe for the Camaro and see if we can get this tuneup right. She sounds goooood!
Here we go again!!!
August 3, 2008 on 8:24 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThe Camaro has once again let us down…We got in the waterbox on our first pass, started the burnout and the rev-limiter did not catch at 5500rpm as we had programmed it to do, and I’m pretty sure we spun a rod bearing, because we lost oil pressure and ran the motor up to 10,000rpm. It only took a second and by the time I caught it, it was too late. I’ll know more once I get the engine pulled and torn down later this week. On a better note, I brought the Camaro home and took the Vega back out to the track Friday night, and she ran great! 6.32 @ 107.42mph. Seems like this car is on automatic!! Next week, we will run it for the “King of the Track” championship and hopefully win a Wally. Come watch us run it!!
