Update on the Camaro

We have been plagued with leaks this year! We are trying to seal up all of them so as to not kill all of the mosquito population at the track! We took the car out to SMP this past Friday and put down some good numbers…The car ran 6.66 @ 105 mph first pass, then ran a 6.22 @ 112 mph second pass on a little nitrous. We won the Hour of Power ($100 prize) with a 6.45 @ 109 mph. The car is running pretty good this year. Hopefully we will continue to have success with it. Come see us this Friday when we bring out the little small bock Vega.

Took the Camaro to SMP

We took the Camaro out to Sooner Motorplex yesterday for our first pass with the new motor. On the first run the brake didn’t hold on the starting line, and we pushed thru, so we went ahead and ran down the track. We didn’t get a time slip, so we topped off the fuel and went at it again. Second pass, we ran a 6.83 @ 103 mph. The car was leaking oil from somewhere, so we put it in the trailer and brought it home. today, I found that the “new” oil pan has a cracked weld along the bottom left rear edge! Just say J.B. Weld! We will put oil back in it tommorrow and see if it is going to hold. Stay tuned for more info.

Friday night- 6 July-at Sooner Motorplex

We will have the Vega out this Friday night making some test hits and see if we have solved the fuel problem we had last week. We should see some low 6 second passes if all goes well.

P.S. In case anyone was wondering about the Camaro…. It’s also ready to go, and we will have it out real soon.  Support our track and come out and see us!
