Vega makes maiden voyage
June 25, 2007 on 8:31 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWe decided to take the Vega out to Wichita Falls, Tx. Since our track was closed due to rain…We made four passes which were all consistent with each other. The best pass was 7.04 with a 1.49 60 ft. @ 82 mph. The car ran great, but we have got to upgrade the fuel system. We noted that once we got half way down the track, the car lost power and started surging, showing a need for more fuel. We will add another fuel pump to the system and add a second fuel line and see if this fixes the problem. Weather permitting, we will have the Camaro out this weekend! Stay tuned!!!

The Vega is ready
June 11, 2007 on 6:58 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWe spent the entire weekend putting the finishing touches on the Vega. Got the transmission installed, put in the seat and belts, and finished the rear end. I took the car across the street for a short test run and I think it’s ready for Test and Tune! Weather permitting, we will be at Sooner Motorplex this Friday night and start our track tune. Come see us!

Fired the Vega engine Today
June 1, 2007 on 10:48 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWe finally finished the fuel system on the Vega and fired it for the first time today. It sounds really strong! Tommorrow, I will install the exhaust system (3 inch straight pipe) and start the engine tune. We sent the front rotors out to be drilled for 1/2 inch studs and expect them to be completed in a few days. the last big item to purchase is the transmission, which I expect to pick up in the next couple of weeks. I’ll post more as we progress.
