Friday, 23 June at SMP

We are planning on racing at Sooner Motorplex, on Friday, 23 June. We are planning a Jackpot race for fast cars, so it should be interesting. Were gonna spray some nitrous and try to run the car into the low 6’s. Come out and support your local track.

Follow-up: We ran the car friday night and she ran good: 6.35 on motor only  @ 104mph. Then we found trouble: We pulled into the staging lanes for another round with a 180 shot of nitrous, but when we went into second gear, the car shut off. I let it coast down to the turn-off to return road, and restarted the engine. The oil pressure guage was sitting at zero, so we shut it down. Saturday morning, we pulled the engine and found that the oil pump pickup screen had fallen off the oil pump and the bracket that holds it in place was broken. We damaged the #3 and #4 rods as well as the crankshaft. We have since talked to Victor Penrod, and he is going to fix everything. Victor already ordered the two new rods and we have taken the crankshaft to Folks Machine in Norman to be repaired. We should be back in action in about 4 weeks(they are back-logged and are two weeks behind at Folks). I’ll keep everyone posted on our progress.

Ruff Riders Picnic

We will have the Camaro on display at the Ruff Riders Bike Club Picnic on Saturday, 24 June from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Elmer Thomas Park. come out and see us. 

Camaro is ready!!

We will be at Sooner Motorplex tonight, 9 June 2006 and will try to get the car in the low 6’s on motor. Everybody come out and support your local track.

P.S. 10secondCRX, I’ll be looking for ya!!! hahaha.

FOLLOW-UP: The Camaro did very well tonight, winning the “Hour of Power” and the $100 prize, running a 6.66 @ 103 mph on motor only. We are planning on possibly spraying it with nitrous on our next visit to Sooner Motorplex and try to dip into the 5 second range. Come out and support your local race track.
